ACKERMAN LEVINE, CULLEN, BRICKMAN & LIMMER, LLP

Firm Overview

In 1995, two of the oldest firms on Long Island merged to become Ackerman, Levine, Cullen, Brickman & Limmer, LLP. The merger combined Peirez, Ackerman & Levine, L.L.P., founded in 1941, and Schiffmacher, Cullen, Farrell & Limmer, established in 1937. We retain strong ties to our historical roots. Today our firm has a significant breadth and depth of practice, as well as an expanded geographic scope, representing clients in the New York metropolitan area and Long Island, and throughout the United States.

Our firm’s practice is concentrated in five major areas: commercial and business; litigation; real estate; municipal and public authority; and trust and estates. We have a broad range of experience and skill in general business and commercial law, including corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, zoning, not-for-profit law, municipal law, franchising, commercial and residential real estate, secured lending, civil trials, appeals, arbitrations and mediation, contested fiduciary proceedings, trusts and estates, and tax, succession and estate planning. Our clients include individuals, entrepreneurs and professionals, privately held businesses and corporations, small business investment companies, pubic companies, municipal entities, public authorities, real estate developers, owners and managers, banks, and financial services firms.

We are dedicated to providing our clients with the finest professional service at a reasonable cost. Our size enables us to staff and complete matters more efficiently than many larger firms, and facilitates consultation and cooperation among our lawyers. We pride ourselves on our flexible and innovative approach to each client’s unique legal needs and on our ability to service those needs on a basis consistent with the client’s economic expectations and circumstances.
